Our Local Yarn Stores
Los Angeles and the surrounding areas have so many wonderful yarn shops to spend countless hours just daydreaming about your next project. If you are in LA for only a day these are the shops to visit from our humble opinion. Yes, of course we are biased,
but these shops are not to be missed and have shown our group extra love.

The Knitting Tree
This place is one of our top shops to visit and for good reason! Annette has truly created a knitting sanctuary in the city that fosters community and friendship through knitting. You will always feel welcome when you walk through the doors and find a helpful hand if you need that perfect skein for a project. To further enhance your visit stop by The Branch Gallery next door, the area's only fiber art gallery dedicated to showing the world that fiber is an art form to be admired! Located in Inglewood off the 405. See their web site. |
Gather DTLA
If you love books almost as much as you love yarn this little shop in the heart of Downtown LA will be the perfect stop for you. Nestled inside The Last Bookstore, you will spend hours looking at the perfectly curated selection of yarns and then wander the aisles of books downstairs. A place to get lost and just enjoy. See their web site for events. |

The Yarnover Truck
We are so lucky because here in SoCal we have the only true yarn truck! We collaborated with the truck for our fabulous knitting picnic and we cannot say enough good things about working with them. The ladies are constantly collaborating with indie dyers to create one-of-a-kind colorways that you can only get from their shop. Check them out online or in person. Their calendar is constantly full of new locations and events so you will be sure to find them popping up somewhere in the city. |

Compatto
If you are looking for luxury yarn and fibers look no further. The women of this shop really know what they like and are happy to share with you. They also take the time to find beautiful patterns and put together kits for an easy shop. Find them in Mid-City Santa Monica on Wilshire. See their web site. |
Honorable Mentions
We know how hard it is to choose which yarn shops to try out in a new city and, while we have mentioned our favorites above, these shops are also fabulous little stores in themselves. Each one has something unique to offer and our members have enjoyed shopping in each one.
